Life Teen

High School Youth Group

Jesus did not say: “One of you go”, but “All of you go”: we are sent together. Dear young friends, be aware of the companionship of the whole Church and also the communion of the saints on this mission. When we face challenges together, then we are strong, we discover resources we did not know we had. Jesus did not call the Apostles to live in isolation, he called them to form a group, a community.

-Papa Francisco at the World Youth Day closing Mass in Rio de Janeiro 2013

Our mission at Lifeteen is to give High School Teens the opportunity to Experience, Witness, Accept, and Share Christ's love. We are so much more than a youth group--we are a family. We'll be so bold as to make you two promises about Lifeteen.

  1. You are always welcome. (And that includes your friends!)
  2. The Core team of adults are here for you. They will always listen without judgement and help in any way they can.

Most of the time you'll find us on Sundays following the 6 pm Lifeteen Mass. (We invite you to join us in the front two pews at the 6 pm Mass on Sundays.) Our Life Nights start at 7:30 and go until 9:15 pm. Our Life Nights are usually held in the Parish Center and it's during these nights that we explore our Catholic faith, social justice issues, Church history, and current topics that are happening in our world today. We will usually play a game so it's not a bad idea to bring sneakers, though shoes are completely optional at Lifeteen. (Once you come, you'll understand that more.)

We do more that just meet on Sundays. In the Fall (the second full weekend of September to be exact if you want to mark your calendar), we go on our parish Fall Retreat at Camp  Chatuga. While on retreat you'll have an opportunity to make new friends, play some awesome games, and most importantly experience Christ.

Throughout the year we offer service projects, smaller retreats, social events, and small group studies. If there is something you'd like to see us add, let us know and we'll try to figure out how we can!

Life Teen is a national program that focuses on leading teens closer to Christ. Teens come together to develop a personal relationship with Christ. It provides direction for teens and their families that is grounded in our Catholic faith. Our weekly Life Teen Mass is an upbeat and uplifting celebration. We meet after Mass for our weekly meetings. Service opportunities, retreats and socials are scheduled throughout the year. Contact: lifeteen@smmcc.org
