LOVED by the Father, TRANSFORMED by the Son, SENT by the Spirit
AWE Mission
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, AWE cultivates, equips, and deploys missionary disciples who pray with others to experience the healing and freedom of God’s transforming love.
Many people today carry trauma, emotional wounds, and the weight of empty pursuits. In a world longing for love, healing, and true purpose, there is One who still transforms lives. In the life of the church, miracles still unfold, and Jesus continues to heal - working powerfully through His people to bring restoration, freedom, and hope. “Ours are the hands through which He blesses all the world.” – St. Teresa of Avila
Through AWE we become agents of God’s love, serving as the hands of Christ in the world today.
AWE awakens our hearts to the true purpose of life - to know God, to love God, and to serve God - echoing the timeless teaching of the Catholic Church. When we live this way, our identity becomes clear. Jesus reveals who we are truly meant to be as sons and daughters of God. As Saint Irenaeus said, “The glory of God is man fully alive.”
We call this . . . living life in AWE.
AWE serves in various ways, addressing the spiritual needs of our parishioners:
AWE Night
An evening of praise and worship
in adoration of our Lord
First Sunday of Every Month 7:00 - 8:15 p.m.
Powerful evenings of Eucharistic Adoration, prayer, and praise, aimed to create a sacred space for a personal and transformative encounter with Jesus. Each night also features a short testimony or teaching to draw the message of the Gospel deeper into our lives.
Contemporary Music to elevate our worship
“Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord, cry out to the rock of our salvation.” Psalm 95:1
Our AWE Nights music is available HERE.
AWE Night PRAYER Teams
As part of AWE Nights, compassionate, multilingual prayer teams are available to stand with you in faith, offering prayer for you or your loved ones. These moments are a chance to experience the healing power of God’s unconditional love.
Prayer Teams are also available to support parish ministry events. To invite a team to pray with your ministry and its leaders, contact us at AWE@smmcc.org to schedule.
AWE Inner Healing Prayer Sessions:
AWE believes that healed people heal people. We offer Inner Healing Prayer Sessions - one-hour, Spirit-led times of prayer with trained teams who gently guide you into a personal encounter with the Lord. These sessions provide an opportunity to see yourself as God sees you, as He speaks truth, healing, and freedom into areas of pain, false beliefs, and spiritual wounds. Through guided questions, you’ll receive the healing, forgiveness, and freedom that only He can give.

God reaches for us, as we are: loved by the Father, transformed by the Son and sent by the Holy Spirit.
With a renewed mind and heart, we adore Him, worship Him by giving our lives to Him and evangelize to others because “the love of Christ impels us” to share the joy of the Gospel. 2 Corinthians 5:14

AWE is a way to remind God’s people of what
the church has always taught.
Man’s Purpose: from the Baltimore Catechism
To KNOW God • To LOVE God • To SERVE God
To know God
We know God as we grow in our relationship with Him through prayer, and understand our identity as His children.
Adore: Latin: ad (to) orare (pray)
ADORE
We love because He first loved us and we have an identity, with an inheritance, as sons and daughters of God.
“See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God.”
1 John 3:1
To love God
We are to be conformed to Christ, to love like Jesus, in full surrender and sacrifice - to die to self and live for Christ.
Worship: to give glory or honor.
WORSHIP
In gratitude, our lives become a living sacrifice.
We live to love Him in return.
“I urge you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1
To serve God
Do the work He's calling us to do - serve His people, bring others to Him.
Evangelize: to bring good news, to convert or seek to convert.
EVANGELIZE
Ignited by the Holy Spirit, we love others as He loved us.
“As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons.”
Matthew 10:7

AWE Explained Through The Logo
The Shape
The circle represents the Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith, one Body of Christ, and the whole world, which God desires to set ablaze by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 2:49
The Colors
Black and white overlayed by the varied colors, reminds us of the one Church, both traditional and charismatic (CF. Lumen Gentium 12). The two blue drops signify the water of baptism, which bestows our identity as sons and daughters of God.
The uncontainable flame represents the Holy Spirit burning boldly within us, developing charisms for the building up of the Church.
1Corinthians 12:12-21
The Words
As sons and daughters, in awe we adore God our Abba Father and receive His Holy Spirit making us a new creation. In worship and gratitude, we give our lives as a living sacrifice for all He’s given us. We are transformed by the consuming fire of His love and are compelled to evangelize and share His love with others.
