Are We Repenting?

In Biblical times, Nineveh was a city steeped in such immoral life styles that God was about to inflict disastrous punishment, should they not heed to God’s prophetic calling upon them to repent of their sinful ways. When made aware of what could befall them, the king and its people ceased defying God, repented and thus averted the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Over the years, there has been in this country a greater and greater defiance of God’s Created Order as evidenced in the following:

a) While decrying “Black lives matter, or Blue lives matter,” there is little concern from the majority of Americans that human embryos in the womb matter -- with approximately sixty million innocent (American citizens) in the womb having been murdered under the government-protected “Planned Parenthood,” since the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe vs. Wade.

b) This defiance against God and the “natural order” is further exemplified in the country’s Supreme Court’s tyrannical edict defining the term “marriage” to include “man with man” or “woman with woman” which arrogantly dismisses God’s Revelation as expressed in Genesis -- “man and woman (God) created them -- the two shall be one flesh and multiply”; as well as disregarding anthropological history, where from the earliest times in mankind’s history the human species entered into a marriage relationship as man and woman, without which there would be no “mankind” today.

c) It should not surprise us that once “Man” the creature defies God the “Creator” -- going so far as to reject “God” and thus “Reality” -- what is left is “Man’s” so called new faith -- namely fantasy as their religion; with the corollary of fantasy now being seen in the many facets of Transgenderism, where “homo sapiens” reject the God-created biological fact of maleness or femaleness simply by declaring their thinking determines it to be otherwise. Thus the self-proclaimed “transgendered” defies God’s Creation and cites, for their authority, themselves as well as the authority of the Buddhist teaching that what you think -- you are.

Such thinking is contrary to the foundation of our country’s history which is based on a Judaeo-Christian Principle -- the reality of God as Creator from whom has come our biological reality, as well as our dignity as human beings described in the country’s Declaration of Independence as endowed by their Creator with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, over the years Americans have become lax in their vigilance and allowed their history to be stolen away and revised by Leftist organizations as represented by the enforcers of Leftism -- the ACLU; as well as rogue Court Justices and educational systems which have made our institutions of learning become systems of Leftist indoctrination rather than of education.

This Trojan Horse of Leftism, with its ensuing moral corruption, has metastasized throughout all levels of American Society and will approach its ultimate test in the outcome of the upcoming elections. If the Socialistic-Democratic Party prevails, with the Supreme Court then coming into the hands of those justices who define the Constitution as a fluid, evolving and relative entity -- contrary to the intent and great experiment of the Founding Fathers whose decision was based on the absolute of the Judaeo-Christian philosophy as implied in the use of the term CREATOR in the Declaration of Independence -- that the People run the government by their Representatives through their establishment of a Republic -- will be forever lost.

Let us also remember that when the Founding Fathers declared that the Government would have no established religion, that very first Congress called upon George Washington, the Republic’s first President, to establish an annual public day of thanksgiving to God -- a historical fact that clearly shows that the mention of God in public did not indicate the establishment of a religion but simply was a historical reminder of our Republic’s historical coming into existence!

The words of the hymn: “America the Beautiful:” “…God shed his grace on thee” further remind us of the place God had among the people in the early founding of our country, and unless the people of this country repent of their permitting the above-mentioned modes of defiance towards God, we will not only lose our Republic as crafted by our Founding Fathers, but the fate of a Sodom and Gomorrah could very well be ours through an Iranian Jihad gone viral.

This repentance -- metanoia -- the rethinking of our values in the light of the Life and Teachings of Christ -- will be shown if our country turns away from thinking with “other than God” as evidenced in defying God’s teaching on marriage; accepting the murder of the innocent by abortion; advocating euthanasia as the pragmatic response to the burden of caring for senior citizens.

Present day Americans have been gifted with this Republic and its very history. As stewards, we have the responsibility of protecting our Constitution from all forces that would dilute it or remove it altogether. The way we protect it is by KNOWING it and LIVING it; defending it from all enemies, domestic and foreign -- especially by prayer and fasting -- that God will be merciful to us who have for too long a time through our country’s defiance of God, endangered the future viability of the REPUBLIC itself.

Finally, let us fulfill our duty to vote in this coming election PRAYERFULLY and thus RESPONSIBLY. May our vote be for the defense of the Constitution, whose survival is that the Supreme Court will have judges who understand the Constitution in an ABSOLUTE sense as presented by the Founding Fathers and not a RELATIVE sense as espoused by those of the ACLU and their Leftist and Socialists counterparts who are seeking to rule the government.

Catholics played a significant role in the American colonies, winning their freedom from the tyranny of England. How ironic that in this constitutional crisis in America today, Catholics again, with their present huge voting bloc, could well make the difference in the preservation of the Republic of our Founding Fathers, rather than in its demise!
